Who We Are
Break Into Business is on a mission to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Break Into Business was launched in 2007 by Alyssa Furtado and Monica Lage. The girls had met while studying business at Queen's University (Ontario, Canada) and were about to graduate and begin exciting careers in management consulting. They asked themselves, "Why didn't anyone teach us about business EARLIER!?" and Break Into Business was born.
Due to the success of the program, Alyssa and Monica used their vacation each year to run Break Into Business. Eventually, as Monica headed off to Harvard Business School and Alyssa’s own business, Ratehub.ca, took off, it became too difficult to maintain the annual ritual. BiB was put on hold, but the passion didn't waiver.
When Monica moved to Atlanta in 2013 she knew that it would be the perfect city for BiB. She started with a small group of students at Georgia Tech, and the rest is history. BiB now coaches over 200 students each year and partners with the most entrepreneurial organizations in the city.
